WCGA has the objective to act as a forum for technical presentations of ongoing research and relevant activities in the area of Computational Grids, Infrastructure, Middleware Development and Applications, geting together researchers and professionals actively working in this area. The workshop also intends to form multi-institutional collaborative networks, groups with technical and scientific competence, and the strengthening of ongoing activities.

The VII Workshop on Grid Computing and Applications (WCGA 2008) will be held in conjunction with the 27º Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC 2009), in Recife, PE - Brazil. The WCGA 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions were hold with the SBRC - the editions of 2003, 2004 and 2005 were held at LNCC in Petropolis - RJ. The workshop has been generating substantial interest from the community and we expect this to continue.
